Der Modedesigner Kavita Parmar hat ein neues Projekt ins Leben gerufen. Es nennt sich The IOU Project und das besondere daran ist: Wenn man ein Kleidungsstück kauft, bekommt man einen sogenannten QR Code, anhand dessen man auf der IOU Website zurückverfolgen kann, wer an der Herstellung des guten Stücks so alles beteiligt war: vom indischen Textilweber, der die schönen Madras-Stoffe mit der Hand herstellt, über den Designer, den Näher, bis hin zum Endkäufer.
„The idea was to rethink the clothing manufacturing and distribution chain to really serve the artisan, the designer, the final client and be sustainable for everyone instead of just enriching a few at the top end. IOU is an experiment in creating a prosperity chain, that allows goods to be produced and sold in a way that benefits everyone involved.“
Nicht nur die Idee ist toll, sondern auch das Ergebnis ist ein Augenschmaus!
